Three Activities in La Habra Only the Locals Know

With summer here, we are all so excited to get out of the house and visit a few of our favorite places in La Habra. The summer sun and breeze make spending time outside one of our favorite things to do—especially with all the parks, hikes, and farmers markets in La Habra. While going to major tourist attractions like Disneyland is great, we also love a quiet afternoon enjoying some local sites.

Enjoy the Fresh Air at a Local Park

One of our favorite things to do in the summer is to spend time soaking up the sun at a local park. We love putting together a picnic spread, picking out a new summer read, and lounging around outside with a few of our favorite people. Our absolute favorite park is Vista del Valle Park, but there are dozens of local parks to choose from. There are always new parks to explore! 

If parks don’t suit your fancy, we also have access to a few beaches near La Habra, including Long Beach and Newport Beach. Our location in California means you have a variety of beaches just a drive away.

 

See a Live Show 

There’s something particularly special about seeing a live performance. One of our favorite summer activities in La Habra is the concerts in the park at Portola Park. Not only do they have live music every week, but they also have food trucks and other activities available to enjoy at a safe distance from other people. This month’s park concert schedule features acts such as Southland, as well as tributes to iconic musicians like Elton John, The Beatles, and Bruno Mars.

Because experiencing live music doesn’t require being in close contact with hundreds of people, you can enjoy all that these live acts have to offer without the risk. If you’re interested, stop by on Thursdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. to see what these concerts in La Habra are all about.

In addition, this summer in Orange County, the OC Parks Summer Concert Series and Sunset Cinema Film Series are back! From June 18 to September 10, there will be 10 free concerts and 13 free movie showings. The concerts will be on Thursdays at 5:00 p.m., with the music beginning at 6:00 p.m. The movie nights will be on Fridays at 6:00 p.m., with the movie beginning at sundown. Pick up Fresh Produce at the Local Farmers Market

Our favorite weekend afternoon activity includes shopping for fresh produce and products at the local farmers markets. There are a few farmers markets near La Habra, including those in Placentia , Buena Park , and Fullerton . Some of these farmers markets even offer curbside pickup so that you don’t have to put yourself at the risk of being around huge crowds of people. 

Most farmers markets operate once a week, so make sure to double-check their websites for more information about hours. While some may be open in the evenings, others might only open during the mornings. 

Whether you want to spend some time at the park or beach, seeing a live concert, or shopping for fresh produce at farmers markets in La Habra, you’ll have so much to see and do near your home.
